With Christmas now behind us and the New Year just a few days off, most of us are probably sitting around the house in a Christmas cookie-induced daze, wondering how much more holiday fun we can take. This is the perfect time to spend a few minutes giving yourself the gift of peace, quiet, and amazing bird photos to feast your eyes (and not your stomach) upon. Fortunately, Audubon Magazine just announced their 2012 Photo Awards Top 100, available for your viewing pleasure on their website. A few of my favorites:
Ruby-Throated Hummingbird by Melanie Gloster
American Oystercatcher, by Cheryl Molennor
Pileated Woodpeckers by James Urbach
Click here to enjoy the rest of the gallery… perhaps with a cup of tea and just one more Christmas cookie?

Do you have to be an Audubon member &/or magazine subscriber to view the full gallery on their site?
Diane – You don’t need to be a member, but as of about 6 pm EST on 12/26, it looks like maybe the site is having some problems, because I’m having trouble getting it to load. Check back later because the images are amazing!
Thank you ever so much for the lead to such a wonderful site. I laughed and cried at the beauty and simplicity of the different types of birds. Again Thank You VERRRRRRY Much!
