Great Blue Herons are such beautiful, striking birds. It is hard to miss them because of their large size.
Often, you will find them along the water’s edge looking for fish. I notice them quite often by the lakes on golf courses.
But last week, as I was driving in a new housing development, I noticed something perched up high on the street light…

As I drove closer, I saw that it was in fact, a Blue Heron perched up high. So, I stopped my truck in the middle of the road and took a picture with my cell phone. (Have any of you found yourselves stopping in the middle of the road to watch a bird or take a photo of one?)
Now, you probably wonder why this Blue Heron was perched on top of a street light.
Well, there were a couple of lakes just a block away.

Maybe he was looking at the lakes, deciding which one looked like it had the most fish?
