Migration Videos

by Lorie (Photography) on September 12, 2012

It’s that time of year when we start seeing birds on the move. Here’s just a couple videos on migration and that we simply loved enough to share. Enjoy!

Can we even think the words “migration” and “video” without mentioning the documentary Winged Migration? And watching the trailer is the perfect 2-minute bird fix when you can’t get out and see the real thing.

Need a refresher on fall backyard migration? This short video from the folks at Scotts gives great information from a migration map to a great tip for spotting warblers!

We also found an amazing Assignment Earth video on new whooping crane migration between Wisconsin and Florida. Click here to watch these incredible birds on BirdCinema.com.

Scott’s Miracle Gro knowingly sold tainted bird seed for two years that killed millions of birds. If you care about birds, do not support this company by purchasing Scott’s products.

Yes, always enjoy videos. The clip about migration is interesting as well. I live in Wisconsin, my juncos have arrived back ‘home’ and i actually think i had a warbler here for about a week this fall! i thought it was a gold finch at first, but he acted different, eating on the suet…and the more i looked at him, the more i think it was a warbler. I am having quite a time keeping the squirrels off of my feeders right now, i don’t remember them being as pesky other years…they can be so annoying!

Hi…i lucked out at my local dollar store..got feeders that suction to the window…chippys + squirrels cant get at them…i also got suction cup hangers to hang the suet from and a wicker basket with sunflower seeds + peanuts…works great at keeping the pests at bay til the snow flies!
