Alaska Bird Videos

by Lorie (Photography) on August 7, 2012

Our September issue of Birds & Blooms Extra features Alaska’s Extraordinary Migrants. We found some video clips of these amazing birds that we loved enough to share. Please, watch and enjoy!

Spring Birds of Alaska from Dennis Zaki on Vimeo.

This video instantly became an all-time favorite. From the butterfly flapping of an arctic tern’s wings to the graceful soaring of sandhill cranes, these birds captivate.

Alaska Hummingbirds from Boone Hodgin on Vimeo.

That’s right, some hummingbirds migrate all the way up to Alaska. Imagine, all those gorgeous scenic views, and hummingbirds too.

And here we have a Steller’s Jay that seems to be inventing the next Angry Birds game. Hats off to YouTube user gesasage88 for the creative video and editing. (Love the blast-from-the-past Atari sound bytes, too!)

If you have bird videos you love, too, be sure to share by posting a link in the comments below!
