Fun Ideas for a Fun Fourth of July

by Noelle on July 3, 2012

I love celebrating the Fourth of July.

Each year, we get together with family members and eat great BBQ, corn on the cob and watermelon, of course.

Maybe you are hosting a Fourth of July celebration this year?  Do you need some ideas for decorating and delicious food?

Well then, look no further then Birds & Blooms Pinterest boards.  (For those of you unfamiliar with Pinterest – it is a virtual ‘pinboard’ where you can view beautiful things that  people find on websites.  These things are organized into themed boards by those who ‘pin’ ideas from websites they like.  Birds & Blooms has many different boards, each with a different theme of things for you to check out.

For the upcoming holiday, I had fun looking through Birds & Blooms Pinterest boards for Fourth of July themed ‘pins’.

On our “Garden Decor” board – you can see quite a few ideas for decorating for the Fourth, such as DIY lumanarias.  There are also some great ideas from my fellow Birds & Blooms blogger, Jill.

Of course, you only have to visit “Garden Inspired Recipes” for some great food ideas for your celebration including a red, white and blue decorated cake.

Ideas for creating fun items from recycled items can be found on the “Recycled Backyard” board including how to make American Flag planters and a windsock out of a tin can.

Pinterest is a great place to visit for inspiration and it is free to sign up and create your own “boards”.  Be sure to become a ‘follower’ of Birds & Blooms on Pinterest to keep updated on their latest ‘pins’.

**So whether you are hosting a party, going to see fireworks or spending a quiet evening at home – I wish for you and your family a very happy Fourth of July!
