Every spring, I look forward to new flower buds beginning to unfurl their petals…
Just like these Hibiscus flowers.
What springtime blooms are you looking forward to seeing this year?

We have had so many flowers blooming already. The bluebonnets, the purple Iris, the wine cup wildflowers and now I’m waiting for my Pride of Barbados to bloom in July. I have my butterfly bush about to bloom along with other wildflowers I planted last year. It has been a much wetter spring in Central Texas this year so lots of flowers are everywhere. My lantana are blooming along with the greggi red salvia and bougainvilleas. I’m loving the colors all over the hill country.
Hi Linda,
I have lantana and bougainvillea blooming right now too

Looking forward to “spring” blooms? Not a chance anymore. First spring blooms in my yard in DE are the cherry blossoms on one of my trees but they bloomed in Feb this year and currently the Dogwoods that bloom in May are already out and in some cases finishing up already. The peonies are getting ready to bloom in a week or two. What happened to spring? 88 degrees here yesterday on April 16. I think we are looking at summer already.
I always look forward to my iris. I know spring is here when they bloom.
I love seeing the first bloom on my Mom’s bleeding heart vine. She passed away in Nov ’10 & the first bloom opened up the morning she passed away. She cared for that plant with so much loving attention & was looking forward to seeing it bloom. I have been taking “special-care” of it since then.
What a special and beautiful plant to remember your mother by

When I see my irises and tulips…..I know spring is here and the world seems to light up!!
My most anticipated blooms are my Columbine. They are my gauge for watching for the Ruby Throated Hummingbird.
I love the different colors of Columbine

We recently bought a new house in a new state and are so excited about what next is going to be blooming. The laady we bought the house from must have been a master gardener. Its like the “Garden of Eden.”
Hi Ruth,
I can only imagine how much fun it is to see what type of flower will open next
