What are the top three flowers that I would plant near my hummingn bird feeders to nurish and even protect them?

What flowers attract humming birds the best. I want to feed them and maybe even protect them at the same time.

Any RED flowers attract hummingbirds….mine LOVE bee balm and the annual salvias that can be grown from seed. Any nectar producing flowers are also popular. Most plants specify if they are hummingbird or butterfly flowers….start to read the tags at garden centers…..I also put out feeders, but if I can “feed” the hummingbirds naturally I do that first.
