Did you know you can make a bird feeder out of a bike wheel? Or that a simple sunflower can be turned into a bird bouquet, attracting American goldfinches and dark-eyed juncos? How about that you can make a simple mosaic birdbath with glue and terra-cotta trays? These clever ideas, and many more, have been sent in over the years from our readers and we’ve compiled them to share with you!
So let’s hear it. What thrifty projects have you created for your own backyard? Or better yet, submit them to us for possible use in the magazine!

I like the bike wheel one! That’s So cute !
I’d like the directions to make a BIKE BIRDFEEDER. Can you send them to me by e-mail please? Or if they have been posted somewhere, where are they?
Thank you!
I love you magazines & fb page.
How do I get the sunflower to have seeds? They never form. What do I need to do?
I would like to tell you about my birds this year. I have Carolina Wrens and she came in my pet door this year and made her
nest on my kitchen shelf. I had to leave my sliding door open for her to go in and out when I found out what she was doing.
She had three eggs and two hatched. We got to see her coming and going feeding the little guys. I have pictures if you would like to have them.
