November 15, 2011 is America Recycles Day (who knew?)! In honor of this annual event encouraging Americans to learn about and use recycling in their communities, I’m sharing a variety of recycled yard art project ideas from Birds & Blooms, along with some inspiration from other sources. Help the earth and your own pocketbook by putting some recycled materials to use in your garden – just click the photos or project titles for more information.

Ceramic Tile Pedestal:
Here’s a cool idea for using old ceramic tile to make a pedestal for a garden statue or planter.
Thanks to Yanzum.com for this idea.

Glass Garden Totems from D & G Gardens and Crafts:
Communities have started getting into the spirit of recycled yard art, too. My own county extension office sponsored a recycled yard art contest, and some of the winners are pretty impressive (and definitely beyond my skill set!). I also came across these photos on Flickr of another county’s contest – be sure to take a look for many more great ideas.
Do you have more ideas to share? Drop by the comments below, or visit the Birds & Blooms Facebook page to upload your photos and tell us all about it!
