Carving Pumpkins: Inspiration from Nature

by Stacy (Editors' Blog) on October 4, 2011

A rose, owl and flowers look great carved into pumpkins.

A couple of years ago, I solicited help from my family to carve some nature-themed pumpkins for a Birds & Blooms photo shoot. Do you remember them in the magazine last year? It was a great excuse for us to go beyond ordinary jack-o’-lanterns designs. My favorite one was the owl. (Thanks Scott, Maggie and Steve.)

To inspire you to create something similar, check out our FREE Halloween pumpkin carving stencils. Have you carved any unique nature-themed pumpkins? If so, I want to see them! Email me a picture: stacy@birdsandblooms.com, and I might post it right here on our blog!
