It’s the biggest week so it has to be great, right? We think so! This annual birding event in Northwest Ohio, which is actually called The Biggest Week in American Birding, is a mere 5 to 6 hours from our offices in Wisconsin, so next week we’re going to check it out for ourselves. I’ve do a lot of backyard birding activities, but I’ve never been to an actual bird festival before. A good friend of mine asked, “So what do you do? Walk around and just look for birds?”
Yes! And so much more. We’re impressed with the line-up available at The Biggest Week. Every day, they have a slew of activities including optional bus trips, free warbler walks, songbird banding, talks with birding pros, etc. We’ll be learning about eBird (a cool partnership of Audubon and Cornell Lab or Ornithology) and going to a talk by birding expert, Kenn Kaufman. Hopefully, we’ll spot a few unique birds along the way as well.

I lived in Toledo for 10 years, and we took regular trips to the Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge and Magee Marsh, both of which are amazing! I hope you all have a truly wonderful time in my old stomping grounds!
