Bird Cakes

by Stacy (Editors' Blog) on April 25, 2011

I love themed cakes. I think it’s one of the best parts about having a party! So in true Birds & Blooms fashion, I sought out a few bird cakes to share with you. By the way, I’m searching for someone who can figure out how to make a really cool hummingbird cake that is actually in the shape of a hummingbird. If you’re willing to take on that challenge for the chance to be featured on our blog, leave a comment. I’ll then contact you and we can work something out!

I love this great design from Coco Cake. Click on the photo to see more views on her website.

I have a friend who is a great cake designer and recently made an Angry Birds cake. Click on the photo to see more of her work.

Sorry to have two Angry Bird examples, but these are so cute. They are cake pops. Click on the photo to buy these from this great Etsy store.

Theme cakes. I don’t think I heard of such a cake before (well maybe if I count birthday cakes) but I do like the designs each of these cakes have. I can say I never heard of cake pops before. It’s an interesting idea. ^_^

These are too cute! What great fun for the grandkids to do with me. Is that a fondant icing that you’re using?

I love cake pops- they’re so adorable! And I can see people going crazy over the Angry Birds cake!

Sharon, I didn’t make them. Click on the photos themselves to see where they came from. It does look like fondant, though.
